I’ve always known how blessed I am to live in California. That’s why my whole life I’ve tried my best to explore everything this glorious state has to offer. I have thoroughly explored the beaches of Southern California during my college years and more of the central coast recently, but have yet to venture off the coast of Northern California. So I decided to make Mendocino my first stop. It’s only two hours north of Napa Valley. And I was fortunate to be invited by Heritage House Resort to visit their stunning oceanfront property and giving me the opportunity to explore Mendocino.
Upon checking in, you are greeted with Heritage House‘s bright and cheerful exterior. This welcoming structure is covered with ivy and has the most darling red door. This building serves as the lobby and home to 5200 Restaurant & Lounge, which I had the pleasure of dining on the first night. The seafood was fresh and the pizza selection (we got two pies) was delicious. If you are having a hard time deciding on which pie to order, get the mushroom! While we did spend most of our evenings sipping wine from our room, the lounge at 5200 has the most inviting fireplace. You could also enjoy a drink outside along the deck full of adirondack chairs facing the ocean.
Thanks to Heritage House Resort for being amazing hosts!
