So I came up to Tahoe last weekend completely unprepared. I was so preoccupied with packing Darla’s things for her first time in the snow that I forgot to bring a few items for myself. Meaning, I left my snow clothes and boots. The one thing you need if you’re going to be frolicking around in the snow.
Luckily I did pack all the layers I needed. It may appear that I’m managing the cold weather with just a plaid button down and vest, but underneath that facade is a tank top, two layers of heattech long sleeves and leggings underneath my jeans. I’m a California girl. Let’s face it, we aren’t build for the cold.
I haven’t actually mastered the skill of posing for photos for my blog. I’m quite awkward and if any other fashion blogger makes it seem effortless, trust me, they are feeling awkward too. However, throw in a live animal who won’t listen to you is a challenge. It makes for funny outtakes like my dog trying to get me to pick her up from the cold, wet ground.
I meant to take photos at Emerald Bay, but the road has been closed for quite some time. Instead we went to the beach and I was just shocked at how low the lake was. The drought has really taken a toll on our lakes in Tahoe. Hopefully it rains throughout all of winter and it continues to have snow on those peaks.
I’m not a good photographer. Also I don’t have the best camera to capture the beauty of Lake Tahoe. This is nothing compared to what my eyes actually see.
